ABOUT US

The Living History Project revolutionises how Malaysia's cultural heritage is documented and shared. We safeguard the stories, experiences, and legacies for present and future generations, empowering individuals to connect with their roots and engage in the nation's history.

TLHP is designed to ensure the longevity and accessibility of the content, keeping the memory and stories of these personalities active in perpetuity.

As an active, "living" medium, we provide instant access to readers and users worldwide while facilitating research, education, and engagement anywhere with multimedia elements to enhance user engagement and understanding.

Our mission is to empower every Malaysian to play an active role in the preservation and protection of their unique narratives, knowledge, and history. We believe in transforming history from a narrative controlled by the few to a collaborative tapestry created by and for the community. Through this mission, we aim to cultivate a collective sense of identity and purpose, thereby strengthening the fabric of our nation for generations to come.

We envision a future where every Malaysian, no matter their background or circumstances, has the chance to share their distinct stories and insights. Leveraging digital technology, we strive to build a platform that is accessible, inclusive, and driven by the community. This space will allow individuals to document and share their experiences in a secure environment, making the act of history-making a democratic process.

Our digital museum is conceived as a dynamic repository that captures the rich diversity of Malaysian life, as told by its people. We commit to spotlighting the stories of unsung heroes and neglected histories, acknowledging the reality that history is often written by those in power, leaving many stories untold. Malaysia’s diverse cultural and historical heritage is unparalleled, marked by its multi-ethnic and multi-cultural fabric. Without concerted preservation efforts, this heritage risks being eroded by modernisation, assimilation, and globalisation. Our digital museum confronts this challenge by safeguarding these cultural assets and making them available to everyone.

Furthermore, our platform aims to foster cultural diversity and understanding. In an age where technology has become a pivotal force in cultural promotion, we plan to harness this power to promote unity and a shared identity among Malaysians. We also dedicate ourselves to honoring Malaysia’s unsung heroes, from the valiant women who supported the economy during difficult times to those who have made significant, yet unrecognised, contributions to the nation. Our digital museum will ensure their stories are remembered and celebrated. A key aspect of our mission is to highlight Malaysia’s architectural heritage, from traditional dwellings to iconic heritage buildings.

Our platform will offer Malaysians the opportunity to learn about and appreciate these architectural wonders. The unique neighborhoods and historic sections of Malaysia’s towns and cities, with their distinctive architecture and community life, provide a link to the past. Yet, these areas face threats from urbanisation and development. Our initiative seeks to document and preserve these communities, recognising their vital role in Malaysia’s cultural heritage.

Lastly, our digital museum will promote archaeotourism and geotourism, spotlighting the archaeological and geological marvels of Malaysia to boost tourism and foster a deeper understanding of the country’s rich history.

In conclusion, our mission with the digital museum is to serve as a beacon for shared identity and purpose among Malaysians, enhance cultural diversity and understanding, and ensure the legacies of unsung heroes and forgotten histories are preserved. Through this mission, we aspire to inspire future generations and contribute to a stronger, more resilient nation.
