Fashion Designer

Amir Luqman graduated from the International Fashion Training Centre (IFTC) for a Diploma in Fashion Design, working under the tutelage of Indonesian designer Anne Avantie. He first gained recognition for his eponymous Batik line and was the youngest designer, at 21, to be featured in the internationally acclaimed book, Batik Inspiration. Amir’s aesthetics keenly focus on clean, tailored classic lines and a pragmatic approach to fashion.

Amir was selected as the fashion designer to create outfits worn by Nadine Ann Thomas at the Miss Universe pageant in 2010. His creation won third prize, a first ever for Malaysia. Amir has also dressed celebrities including Dato’ Siti Nurhaliza and Indonesian star Krisdayanti. He has also created entire wardrobes for films like Los dan Faun and Sumo Lah. His creations continue to have a strong following in the region.
