Tunku Tan Sri Imran ibni Almarhum Tuanku Ja'afar, born on March 21, 1949, is a distinguished member of the Negeri Sembilan royal family and a prominent figure in the Malaysian sports arena. As the second son of Tuanku Ja'afar, the 10th Yang di-Pertuan Besar (Grand Ruler) of Negeri Sembilan, Tunku Imran has always been deeply rooted in his royal heritage.

Tunku Imran's passion for sports began at an early age. He excelled in various sports, including squash, cricket, rugby, hockey, and tennis. In 1973, he became the national squash champion of Malaysia. Despite his royal lineage, Tunku Imran remained remarkably grounded and approachable, earning him the moniker "man of the people."

His contributions to sports extend far beyond his athletic achievements. As the President Emeritus of the Olympic Council of Malaysia, Tunku Imran has held numerous prestigious positions in the world of sports administration. He served as the President of the Olympic Council of Malaysia from 1998 to 2018. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in promoting and developing sports in Malaysia. He was also the President of the World Squash Federation from 1989 to 1996 and the Commonwealth Games Federation from 2011 to 2015.

Tunku Imran's influence in sports is not limited to Malaysia. He has been an active member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and has served on various IOC commissions, including Sport Law, Sport for All, and Sport and Active Society. His dedication to sports and his leadership have earned him respect and admiration both locally and internationally.

Beyond his sports-related endeavors, Tunku Imran has also made significant contributions to the business world. He has held key positions in various companies and organizations, including Chairman of Yayasan Sime Darby and Group Chairman of Petra Group.
